Eros

Eros

The Creative Builder

Eros is a lover with great sexual potency and an ability to create things.  He is also the agent for the continuation of life.

As an Eros, you are a natural builder with a quick mind, a love for women, and many artistic talents. You are a man of the times – intelligent, dedicated to your work, sensitive, and romantic.  Usually younger looking than your years, you show your youthfulness in your lifestyle and your habits.  You are good with your hands, love athletics, appreciate the physical body, and enjoy the companionship of both men and women.  (Everyone loves an Eros.)  You may choose a career in music, acting, or the visual arts, or become an excellent manager, healer, or contractor.  When it comes to women, you have no worries, for you have an abundance of sex appeal.

Strengths

  • Innate artistic talent
  • A dedication to work
  • Natural manual dexterity
  • Instinctive survival capabilities
  • Sensitivity to the needs of women
  • Idealistic and romantic inclinations
  • An ability to learn and adapt quickly

Weaknesses

  • Innate feelings of emotional insecurity
  • Disillusionment with the father figure
  • Resistant to authority/controls
  • A tendency to escapism
  • Self-destructive habits
  • Frequently immature
  • Feelings of rejection

Your primary weakness is emotional insecurity, which stems from your childhood.  Most likely this self-doubt developed in your early years when one of your parents, probably your father showed disappointment in you.  To compensate for what you considered your failings, and to appear as manly as possible, you repressed your feelings of rejection or sought some form of escape, often the destructive kind.  Also, because you respected your mother’s strength of character, you tend to choose mates with her qualities to nurture yourself.

Under your cool exterior, your self-destructive inclinations can damage you physically and emotionally, and eventually undermine your success.  Too much emotional turmoil may trigger your sensitivities and your inherent pancreatic enzyme vulnerability, affecting your digestive system and causing allergies and other stress-induced illnesses, such as colitis and ulcers.  Under such tension, you may also turn to emotional pacifiers for relief: sugar, nicotine, chocolate, alcohol, and drugs.  Your physical health will suffer from this need to escape.  Therefore, it is important that you pay close attention to your health maintenance and emotional balance.

Meeting Your Creative Wellness Challenge

You need to overcome your innate lack of self-assurance, moderate yourself in all that you do, and seek the spiritual side of yourself to experience the calm you desire.  By doing these things, you can rescue the sensitive little boy within you that’s been hurt, and make peace with your mature masculinity.  To make the most of your Eros personality, you can

  • pursue hobbies that give you creative outlets
  • practice preventative health maintenance, including balanced nutrition for your body and natural supports for your emotional needs
  • attend counseling sessions or support groups to discover your true feelings and learn how to express them more fully
  • participate in activities that build your self-esteem and allow you to work with your hands, such as repairing household items, wood carving, or painting

You can be a role model and transformer in any community, assuring the continuity of life by your example in all that you do.

Eros’s Affirmation

I acknowledge that in the past I have disregarded my physical
and emotional needs, which has caused me undue emotional stress.

I therefore pledge to seek higher understanding
so that I might change my habits and become a more integrated person —
body, mind, and soul as one.

I now accept the spiritual purpose for my existence
and pledge to live my purpose to the best of my abilities in all that I do.
